What do new window frames cost in 2026?

All guide prices in one place: uPVC, wood, glazing upgrades and doors or patio sets — plus the factors that decide where your job lands in the band.

Replacing uPVC window frames in 2026 costs on average € 500 to € 1,200 per frame, including installation and HR++ glazing. Wooden frames cost € 700 to € 1,500 per frame. The bands are wide because this trade is made-to-measure work: a small bedroom window with fixed glazing sits at the bottom, a wide window section full of tilt-and-turn parts at the top.

The price drivers in a row: the size of the frame, the number of opening sections (tilt-and-turn windows cost more than fixed glazing due to the hardware), the glazing choice (triple insulates better than HR++ but costs more and needs a heavier profile) and the working height — upstairs frames require ladder or scaffolding work. An average terraced house easily counts 8 to 12 frames; a complete replacement in uPVC thus lands roughly between € 4,000 and € 14,000.

Not every job is a whole facade. If the frames are still sound, HR++ or triple glazing in the existing frame at € 100 to € 250 per m² is the economical middle step. Replacing a front or back door or patio set costs € 1,500 to € 3,500 and is often combined with frame work — the same installation team is there anyway.

Request several quotes and set them against the price index. Look beyond the total: check whether installation, glazing, finishing inside and out, window sills and disposal of the old frames are included, and whether a guarantee covers both profile and installation. The cheapest quote without those items is rarely the cheapest on the final invoice.
